OH true?? On the one hand Xira already started (and failed in the circle) to try to cast and they still seem to be managing this, but now that lots of guards and bystanders are watching the fuss I worry Xira would get dogpiled by guards if they caught him muttering ominiously under his breath right now..can he even handle a whole group at once? Would they see his eyes glow or is that just for reader benefit? Cuz muttering with his eyes glowing black in the middle of a riled crowd right now might make things go bad quick...? But obviously they're worried about string-bean Jonan casting 1 v many sooo maybe he could pull it off?

Might be easier to pull off with everybody else staring at the dramatic necromancer, but you raise very interesting points about practicality.

Guys! I just realized! Jonan doesn't have to be intimidating, he doesn't have to succeed! HE ONLY NEEDS TO BUY SOME TIME FOR XIRA TO STEP OUT OF THE CIRCLE!!!
