From what we've seen of Quentin I'm...... not sure which is more likely.

Quentin is so ineffably blasé. I guess I like it? It's like he has some sort of power that makes the runewriter just not matter, putting aside the fact that the runewriter can obviously control Quentin's physical body to some extent...
