In which we learn a little bit more about runewriters!
As an aside, it was a very long time in developing this world before I realised that elementals who had both water and earth spells should probably have a special talent for ice rather than, say, mud.

Hoorah! Death is a subwotsit of life magic. I've been telling people for years that necromancy is just a label given to people who just so happen to channel their life magicks in a different way from what is considered "the norm". And yet they still persecute me for attacking their villages with undead hordes.
