Okay Xira, you seem(ed?) nice and cute and you helped and everything, but come on dude! That last panel is sending serious psycho vibes and I don't like it. D:
Please tell me he isn't going to toss her down a ravine too!

Xira has never struck me as someone who would actually physically harm someone, so I'm expecting that he's going to take her away with him when he leaves (not sure how he'll lift the box though). He might be going to leave her someplace safe after he's gotten away to a safe distance, but I doubt he has a solid plan at this point.

I don't think he intends to leave. I mean why go through all the trouble to modify their memories? He wants to stay with them. Or he would have put them to sleep and run for it while they are out, no?
I don't think he would want to harm Aember, and he obviously doesn't have a plan and is panicked. And in panic, you can do a lot of stuff you normally wouldn't.

I figured he's planning to run but make them forget so they don't pursue.

I think he actually *cannot* physically harm Aember, but I'm not sure what he's going to do instead, especially considering with the lost pinky finger he had trouble moving her box alone on streets, let alone in a forest.

I'm pretty sure Xira's not planning to run because he's helping Iavin steal Loa's notes for the Agorath Order, and this is their best lead for getting to him and his notes.

But I'm also pretty sure Xira's not thinking this plan through AT ALL in his panic. Besides obviously having no real idea what to do with Aember, he doesn't seem to have fully registered that altering their memories isn't going to fix the real problem: his thought-broadcasting. He might be planning to tail them at a safe distance until the miscast wears off... but of course, there's a good chance that this miscast will stick around just as much as the others'. (Side note: I don't think it's a coincidence that Xira's made such an enormous miscast after coming into contact with Aberrant!Sev.)

....Darn it, I'm almost sure I remember writing a reply to you, but it is clearly not here.

That does make sense. I was about to suggest he might try running ahead, but I'm not sure he knows where to go and that still doesn't fix the thought broadcasting.

And I guess now we see what he did with Aember. D:
