Well darn.

I feel like I should maybe have seen this coming, but somehow A. I didn't realize the guy in Sev's memory was a younger Iavin and B. it never even occurred to me that Xira's mental pen pal might be the only other witch we've met, so I guess not! Wow.

Maybe it's because their personalities (as far as we've seen, which isn't much in Iavin's case) are such complete opposites. Xira's attitude always seems to be that he's going to be helpful to everyone, and Iavin's seems to be that everyone is going to be helpful to him. Not a pair I'd expect to be working together.

But then, we've really only seen Iavin interact (in person) with people he despises - possibly not the best example of his usual behavior. Although if he is/was involved in slave trading, maybe it is? Argh. Now I'm even more curious about him.
