So does that mean that Jonan is in his twenties? I guess not. He looks much older than the rest of the cast. I think of him as a main character now, but I guess he started out as a secondary character.
That's so weird. I just realized I have a cousin who's turning 30 on Thursday too. I wonder how many people on Earth were born on December 15, 1986.

According to the cast page, Jonan's 29. I think it came up in a vote incentive that his life has been busy and stressful enough that he looks rather older than he is.
I think part of it's the beard and also that he's a gaunt skeleton man who looks like he doesn't eat. I can see his normal day as waking up, having some toast and a cup of water, and then getting lost in his work for the next 16 hours solid.

Who exactly is a "main character" is tough to pin down, but I just meant the whole group right now. xD
Jonan's ageing is a lot more than stress! When I was designing him, it was my intention for him to read as 40-50. He REALLY doesn't look his age.

Thank the Artist for still having Joan pants around, it would have been terribly awkward otherwise.
On the other hand, am I the only one mildly concerned about the whole "Snuff out all magic" part?
We have established that Sev (every runewriter) is magic. (he explained early in the comic that you can only put runes on magic stuff, and since he is magic he can put runes on his skin) Sooooooooo will this possibly kill runewriters or affect their magic? Will it affect miscasts?
But tbh will it work at all? The order seemed a bit incompetent this far...
Also, does no one in this town have any survival instinct? Sticking it out woith the infestation is one thing, but "Oh hey look, there is like a bazillion aberrants flooding the streets! Let's go watch!!!" is a bit much :D

Yeah, I was worried about the runewriters too. I don't think it would fix micasts, the same way dousing a fire doesn't restore what has been burnt, but stripping them from magic for an undeterminate period of time (possibly forever) seems like a distinct possibility. And none of them seems worried about that!

Those last two panels crack me up. And that vote incentive! Just remember, any time you're ever at a loss for what you draw for a vote incentive, and no matter where you are in the comic, just draw squirrel Jonan doing something like face palming. Heck, you can just blow up that one image and it would be a vote very well cast. Heheh!

I love Sev's expressions in this page! He's got such a great face. He must be terrible at Poker though, tentacled hands aside. Also, Tiny!Facepalm Jonan is adorable. Poor guy.
