omg all this talk of Jonan enjoying headpats is slander, he's very offended
also that sounds pretty spot on as far as Severian's outlook xD

Panel 5 is what everything up to this point was building up to! :D
I love how Tarry is (probably unconsciously) petting Jonan and how you can't really tell if he likes it or not. But we all know that deep down in his blackened, shrivelled little heart, Jonan secretly enjoys it.
And the best part is, that Jonan's mouth is sealed, so he can't bite! Thus - there IS a pettable form of Jonan :D
