Hmm,based on http://runewriters.com/index.php?c=184, we can establish that Tareth isn't exactly petrified of spiders -- she seems more inconvenienced/grossed out than scared. Nor is Sev's reaction protective there, so probably not allergic either. Since Sev is panicking now, he either believes these particular (illusion) spiders are poisonous, or he can somehow tell these spiders are mind-magic-y and wants Tareth away from that.
(I have been watching a lot of Elementary lately)
Also I find this turn of events very interesting -- I'd assumed by how nice the room was that the facestealer-door had kinda claimed it as its own turf, hence the madghost staying out in the hall... The fact that we're now getting mindghosty stuff suggests to me that either the facestealer has been defeated or that abberants of different types have the capacity to work together.... After all, these two types in particular are after completely different components of their victims.
