...I can get the frustration, but it looks to me like he is actually going to wake up Tareth, so he may be taking it seriously. Whatever he thinks of spiders. (Can anybody else actually see the spiders?)

No, not likely.
Earlier when Tari was creeped out by the inn's facade, Xira was complaining of *hands* everywhere, something Tari did not see at all. The illusions seem to be at least somewhat specific to the person seeing them.
With no one else reacting and later panels free of illusions, I think we are being shown that everyone else is seeing an illusion-free room.

Haha, that would be thrilling arousal. But, given that I like spiders, I mostly sympathise with Jonan here. Honestly, I think there is nothing I hate more than being disturbed when I'm TRYING TO SLEEP OVER HERE GUYS. And then being unable to verbalise my frustration? THAT is a real nightmare.
