Yes, I am curious how will they justify the logistics of this. The party already has to support one guy that can't do much and is flirting with death.

Amber might be able to help with that, actually. It was an elemental runewriter that pulled Jonas back from the brink. Her continued survival also suggests that she can still cast, even if there are limitations imposed on her.

Yes, take the girl in the large, unwieldy blue box with you. That will make your escape both quick and inconspicuous.
Also, now we have yet another party member who Tareth needs to speak for. I wonder if Tareth will ever get enough downtime to appreciate the irony of her situation.
