NAW THAT'S A GOOD POINT ACTUALLY wigs would work just fine. Though, yeah, you'd have to get a nice one if you need it to fool a guy whose main job is examining people's hair and making sure it's not magical. Get one made of someone else's hair, though; keep a hood up or something so he doesn't ever see the whole thing, and you're golden.

I can only think of one kind of runewriting that could make wigs (shapechanging magic applied to objects rather than living things) so that's probably not a super common process.
