Part of me hopes that Jonan smacks Xira out of casting with his cane (since Jonan had a !! moment on this page)
Another part of me hopes that Xira's panicking so much that he miscasts and forgets what the heck his deal with Iavin was entirely, leaving it a terrible mystery to hang over our heads until Iavin shows up in person to ruin everything : D

I like the way you think.
And considering the past history of cast spells (octopus hands, bone tail, dragon (?) feet and now thoughts broadcaster), he doesn't even need to be panicking to miscast.

Nope. Jonan doesn't like the sound of Xira and a secret accomplice having anything to do with Loa. But I'll be so sad if Xira successfully brainwashes his friends. :( That's not how you make friends my friend.

This has not been a good trip for a person who is basically Made Of Secrets.
I'm more curious than ever about the miscast that Iavin (and now maybe also Xira?) is trying to solve. We still know basically nothing about what's actually motivating either of them, and without that, I'm not sure whether Xira is really the well-meaning-but-way-too-reliant-on-lies-and-manipulation person that he's seemed to be so far, or if he's actually up to something more nefarious.

I love how Sev's eyeline in panel 2 looks like it's connected to the text of Xira's thought (which is perfect because that thought is what Sev is actually responding to!).

Having gone back for a second look, I'm wondering if what Xira is going to cast is actually the counter to the problem rather than anything bad. I certainly hope so!
I'm also getting the feeling that Xira isn't so happy about having Iavin in his head - we know he is a nasty piece of work, does he have some kind of hold on Xira to make him go along with this?

Loa Loa is incidentally also the name of a parasitic worm. Though that is less likely to be related than the vodou spirits.
