Had to to think for a second because I couldn't remember Jonan ever being naked and then it was like OH YEAH the squirrel thing.

Yeah Sev, we know you like being naked everywhere all the time, but most other people don't.
And actually, what was the spell Sev was doing when he turned into an Aberrant? I didn't think much about it at the time. Too distracted by the whole "eyes everyhere" thing.
(Also: Sev: even when trying to be considerate, is actually super rude and embarrassing)
And I re-read the beginning of the chapter to see what was the dumb thing Sev had said, and I was wondering: does AEmber's miscast keep Xira's magic out? Like, he can't hear her thoughts? Since it kept the illusion magic out, it would make sense.

We can't really tell what he was casting on the page itself -- though he wouldn't have much reason to turn into an animal for no reason at dinner, so it's a lot more likely he was putting runes on himself.

On the one hand, I have to agree with Sev: Xira's hair is gorgeous (in fact, I just flipped back a few pages so I could stare at its beauty again). On the other hand, I can completely understand Xira's not wanting to be any kind of naked in front of anybody. So let's all pause while he gets his hair back up and gets himself to feeling more calm and in control again . . . and while we're waiting, soooo Sev, I think Tareth's right and we need to have a chat about that whole "turning into an aberrant" thing. *taps foot and waits*
(Also, can I just add that I loved Tareth's response in the vote incentive - totally laughed out loud!)

I believe it's referring to when Xira made the healer forget Jonan. But Jonan remembered the healer, so figured out Xira had witchy powers.

I know it! I just browsed the archives this morning for it.
"The elemental should have remembered it" refers to this page http://runewriters.com/index.php?c=152 and the next two (admire the number of suspicious stares from Jonan).
The dumb thing Sev said is very probably there: http://runewriters.com/index.php?c=186 and the next page, with Sev babbling uselessly on Jonan's very private matters and Xira either threatening or pleading for Jonan's understanding.

(The "dumb thing" is just referring to what Sev just said in the incentive -- she was looking at Jonan and would have no way to know whether Jonan's glaring was warranted.

I don't know why but I am starting to think Xira is a girl. Wouldn't that suck being a woman who could read minds. Hear every though of any random man as she passed, it would make me want to disguise myself as a man. Far less people leer at men who just happen to be walking by.

Eh, not across the board; even if we're talkin cis folks there are still ciswomen with deep voices and cisguys with high voices and not everyone's voice changes at the same time and etcetera etcetera etcetera...
but for the sake of not being coy about a thing that won't come up, I am gonna joss this one -- in canon, Xira is cis and a guy!
(Also, keep in mind that Xira has to turn his mindreading on! When he'd rather not deal with everyone's thoughts, he doesn't have to listen.)

I do like that we can tell he's flushed with mortification there. I also like the detail of him hiding from sight while he dresses himself again, it underscores that naked head = public nudity just like being pantsless or whatever.
I love the vote incentive, those expressions and reactions are so great. XD

The incentives get posted automatically to the site after a two-month delay! If you go back to any page that's more than two months old, you'll see a "Vote Incentive for This Comic" link just above the blue TWC button!
I do want them to be a treat for folks who vote, but I also didn't want them to disappear entirely, so I decided a delay would be the best way to do it!

I'd really love to know more of the rules of the Agorath Order's magic, and how it works. I love mysteries, and I know it's early doors, we'll get it eventually, but I cannot WAIT to have enough information to start really piecing stuff together.
Okay so, The Agorath Order, clearly they've got some connection to the oddly permanent miscasts, since they could supposedly fix Iavin's. Though, I suppose Quentin could easily be lying about that. They also seem to be on some kind of deadline with Quentin's hand tattoo seeming to be growing, which seems ominous.
We know the Agorath Order's ritual magic is considered to be sort of stolen from runewriters. The way a runewriter works is that they write their runes on something that already has magic in it, somehow, and they have to discover their runes by trial and error. Maybe the ritual magic is that they can somehow copy and make use of the runes a runewriter has already perfected? Though, the problem with this idea is that we've not seen a runewriter do anything remotely resembling what the Agorath Order seem to be able to do. I don't know, anybody want to add their two pence? What's your theories?

I remember Iavin said "Unaltered rituals are used by priests and runewriters," so despite the Agoroth order using rituals, it has to also be integrated into the broader magic system.

Not relevant to the comic much, but I had a dream where I was a runewriter that could ascribe properties to items, like making a bus fly or having some foil become stairs (that didn't give out under people because magic).
Soooo your comic is influencing my dreams. I'm okay with this.
