And Jonan is incapable of anything but glowering and sulking, which makes everything nice and peaceful. Ish.

ITS SO NICE TO HAVE EVERYONE GETTING ALONG, (muffled angry noises, jonan glares daggers at literally everyone) JUST, SO PLEASANT, IM SO GLAD WE'RE ALL HAVING A GOOD TIME

The real question is, does Jonan dramatically recite poetry when he's feeling down?

oh my gosh I had forgotten what my vote incentive was at first and I was SO CONFUSED
(he, uh, does not do that)
(he doesn't play clarinet either)

We had a whole conversation about Jonan's emo phase. AND MY HAIKUS.
"Jonan does indeed
Recite dramatic poems
When he's feeling sad."

"...is this because of the haiku thing" WAS LITERALLY MY FIRST THOUGHT xD

Up so many good haikus.
I can't stop. Send help."

Seal your mouth shut, I
would gladly do, had I not
done that to myself.

Alternately:
Anything at all
I'd gladly do, to stop you
writing bad haiku.
:p
I'll stop now.

to stop me from making these
terrible poems.

What would the sign language version of a haiku be?
posted at 7:28am on August 24th, 2016
Haikus are just groups
Of well-arrang'd syllables
Sign language has none.
TL;DR signs don't have syllables, because they're gestures, not sounds.
posted at 12:00am on August 25th, 2016
That is true, but could it not be argued that certain gestures or parts thereof make up the sign language equivalent of syllables, and could therefore form an equivalent version of a haiku?
posted at 10:39am on August 25th, 2016
Signed languages do have like, sub-word elements (hand placement, direction, shape, eye gaze, body positioning...), but lots of them go on at the same time. Sign's not linear the way speech is so dividing it into syllables... doesn't rly make sense.
posted at 6:04pm on August 25th, 2016
That is true, although in Auslan there's a list of basic handshapes that pretty much most signs can be placed under, so I feel you could use those as syllables.

Actually, I'd totally be down for a where's wally style edition of Runewriters with rabbits to find on every page

Everything is a bunny, isn't it? That frog is a bunny. That horse is a bunny. This tree is a bunny. That kid who just used weird Jedi mind tricks on you? OOPS, HE'S A BUNNY.
posted at 12:36pm on August 23rd, 2016
Oh my gosh, can we just get everyone drawn as bunnies now please!! That would be ADORABLE! (Vote incentive maybe??)

More than a little bit hypocritical, I agree.

I don't understand the vote incentive... :(

Yeah, it's another one I don't get the reference to (the comment about Jonan and poetry was also quite confusing until I realised it was linked to the vote incentive)
