Reading that made me wince. And, wait, did it work for a second and then his lips sealed again? Cruel!
And I will be forever amused by Tareth signing in text speak.

Maybe that's what have happened. Though this makes the spell sort of strangely persistent. Also if that happened I don't understand why he is still bleeding. (or maybe he isn't?)
So intense, can't wait to see how this turns out.

I'm thinking his mouth sealed up but the cut on the outside did not so he's going to be bleeding for a bit.

Well crap. Kinda figured just cutting it would work. ah well. No simple solutions for him...

http://www.myscriptfont.com/ will make fonts from your handwriting. In case you haven't heard of it.

Oh man yes, I remember this site -- it's a super cool thing! I made a couple handwriting fonts there once (though I eventually lost them when my harddrive failed) and actually used one once when I was pressed for time on a page of As We Were.
I was originally seriously considering it for Runewriters since I knew Tareth's font would have to be special and the magic-word-font was invented by me, but in the end, I was picky and didn't like how it handled certain letters and just went with my own handwriting. xD As much as I complain about it, I actually really like hand-lettering the comic -- lettering might be my favourite digital step of the whole process.

I apologize in advance, but this is irresistible:
Jonan, Why so serious?!

Just HAD to prove me wrong.. DAmn. I guess the next step is to have the assistant stuff a straw or something in the hole so it seals up behind it. .Right? XD

Looks like Tarri and Sev's party is getting a new member :D

Excellent job on Jonan in panel 7; the expression on his face combined with his hand over his bloodied mouth looks perfect.
I'm amazed Jonan actually never thought of this before. I suppose if he's really that unaware of how the human body works, he might also not realize that the nose hole CAN be used to access the stomach via tubes. Then again, they didn't have plastic back then anyway, so that still creates complications.
It's really interesting seeing Jonan so freaked out, just because, for the most part, he's been the type to keep his cool. Except when he was being almost eaten by the aberrant. You seem to enjoy putting Jonan in situations where his natural state of aloofness is totally and utterly ripped out from under him. (I highly approve. :D)
I wonder if later, when he's managed to get himself out of horrible danger, he'll actually be worried about all of the people he may or may not have killed?

Ahhhh thank you!
re: nasogastric intubation etc -- it may be bad form to address this in the comments, but I'm just gonna say that no matter how much he does or does not know that it's possible, Jonan definitely does not have this stuff lying around in his home, nor is he well-versed in any of these medical practices. xD Dammit Jim, he is a runewriting healer, not a doctor.
(I think this whole chapter is basically Jonan's Awful, Terrible, No-Good Very Bad Day).

Welcome!
XD; Okay, fair point. But doggonit, there's gotta be SOME way to get water into the man! It does rather present a problem though, doesn't it.
IT SO IS. (Also huzzah for amazing old children's books.)

"there's gotta be SOME way to get water into the man!"
Oh, sudden crazy idea: what about an water elementalist? Ah, too bad that the one in town can only do earth. But actually, there might be some sort of "rehydration" spell, right?

'Better' at picking things up and holding them, I'd say. Not so much for the 'putting them back down' part, tho'..... ;-)

Well, I hate to be that guy, but the thing is, the mouth is just one of the ends of what is basically a long tube. Look up "proctoclysis" is all I'm saying... :P

I think I know the answer to his problem, but I don't want to get all spoilerific here.

Also, *just saw the vote incentive* OH YAY IT'S TIM.
I have an odd habit of picking out totally random secondary/minor characters from comics and gaining an inexplicable attachment to them. I think it's his nice nature and cute face. Regardless, I am a Tim fan forever now.

temporary solution: very sharp drinking straw.

I don't think Jonan would appreciate being likened to a Capri Sun.

"Increasingly... today."
