This page had me in stitches the whole way through.
And the fact that he's just so angry fills me with more giggles. It's hilarious how he included the "let me in you bastard" line. And Tareth gets to translate it.

I LOVE this page! Good work, Shazz! (And I'm glad Jonan is letting them in. Maybe there's a teeny bit of a heart in there somewhere.)

Ahhh thank you!
( Also here is a very scientific illustration of Jonan's heart).

I'm starting to understand a little more about this illustration now. I had wondered at the time....

Ahahaha everything in my Deviantart gallery is so old now! xD
That was back before anything was scripted, and I was just working out how the story would go! It didn't stop me from illustrating the hypothetical scenes at the time, though lots of things ended up being different in the end. :")

"You saved my butt... TWICE... And yet..." I don't think it's that he has a heart, I think he's now obligated to do something for them... Besides, when is he going to get another chance to 'study' a benign aberrant?

Has anybody tried to hold a pen like how Jonan is holding that pen, after reading this?
Cuz it's definitely not how they teach you to hold pencils, in kindergarten. @ A @

I held pens and pencils that way for a very long time, actually... people tried to break me of the habit and it didn't take.

I had imagined that he's actually kind of pausing to tap the paper to get Tareth's attention there -- BUT YEAH NO I don't hold pencils the right way so neither do ANY OF MY CHARACTERS APPARENTLY. >A>;

The best part of any story is always when the really, really, really grouchy mean guy gets humbled at least to the degree that he actually finally offers to help out the good guys. The fact that he'd never actually admit to said humbling only makes it better. Also, he should totally give his servant a raise because his servant is clearly VERY dedicated to his job!
Of course, the OTHER side of the coin might be that they now know the password, so they technically coulda followed him in ANYWAY, so maybe he's just trying to keep the upper hand.

Well, technically he didn't offer to help them yet. So who knows what will happen once you are inside a pissed off necromancer's lair?
Though that "fine, just let's get this done and I'll never have to see you again and I'm changing the password" expression in the last panel suggests he's going to help.

I really like Tareth and Jonan's interactions. Probably because he's SCARY ANGRY FRUSTRATED NECROMANCER GUY and she's Tareth.
And I'm going to pretend that conversation with the stone-faced elemental runewriter in the vote incentive totally happened.
