Hi! Welcome to any new people just coming here from Otakon! It is good to be back to Runewriters. :3

As always, Sev's problem-solving skills are unmatched.

You can also see my progress work (pencils, inks, etc.) when you vote for Runewriters!

(Also, just to mention it - the filler has not disappeared; it is in a special filler place. I just need to get a link up to it, which I will do... sometime soon!)

Vote Incentive for This Comic.

So apparently I'm awake for the update. XD

This is spectacularly awesome. I particularly love, "Lady, I'm just as confused as you. Well, no. No, probably a lot more confused." That and the second to last panel. LOL. Poor guy.

Ooh - theory - what if the demon took the form of the Russian lady?

Alright maybe not - that wouldn't explain the glowing knife around Sev, unless using runes to turn into a demon also triggers the knife...

Hahaha, I didn't realise the half-elf was so effeminate! He is actually a guy.

His race kind of tends to be high-cheekboned anyway, with a bit of a slant to the eyes, so I guess that does leave them a bit ambiguous.

How is Blondie McBuggerlugs breathing?

I assume through his nose, since his mouth doesn't seem to be working too well.

It looks like his nose is covered, to me.

It does indeed look like all of his face except for the one eye is being covered. Though I don't know if tentacle hands make an airtight seal.

True, but I'm covering my nose with my hand as hard as I can and I can't actually block air completely without pinching it shut. xD Suckers like that do create an air-tight seal (that's what makes them hard to pull off), but I'm fairly certain that's only for the sucker, not for the entire length of the tentacle/arm/hand-in-this-case. Even if Sev arguably could keep the guy from breathing, that is (a) not really his goal here and (b) something that would require a slightly greater mastery of the appendages in question.

Point A): I agree that the suction cups each would make an individual airtight seal, while the rest of the tentacle would be less so.

Point B): Sev is trying to figure how to let go, so that should make it more likely that there's some air space.

Point C): Hooray for the internet and comics and all that contributes to an artist smushing her own nose in experimentation, just so she can contribute to a discussion about tentacle facepalms.

That is all. :D

Shall we all abscond for a round of tentacle facepalming then?

I just tried it myself, and I actually could stop myself breathing quite easily. I guess my nose must be a different shape to yours...

I think there needs to be a contest for out of context captions for panel seven. I really love those expressions. XD

Is it bad that "It's not what it looks like!" is the first thing that comes to mind?

I think Zim's re-write of the dialogue (that little balloon off to the side is her fault) here involved shouty-man being force-fed calimari but... I do not remember for sure. XD

NO, the lady was trying to ORDER calamari, but it is clearly not cooked well enough. Then the chef comes out and is all, 'Hey, what's wrong with this calam- IT'S STILL ALIVE,' and Sev has to escape before being eaten!

The comment that Sev made of "That was fast" seems kind of like a tip-off to me. I'm fairly certain that the Facestealer has taken the form of the Russian woman.

We don't know the radius of the "demon sensing" knife ability. If Facestealer was just hiding around the corner after reforming from the rats, it could still have been glowing because of her presence.

Or maybe it just registers Sev as a demon anyways because of his Runewriting ability. It wouldn't be that surprising, considering his hands are still all demon-y.

Hmm! Long range on the knife would make sense for being able to track it; but then again, a very short range on the knife would make sense for being able to pinpoint a creature that they know changes shape.

That was a cryptic answer if there ever was one (without having rhymes involved, at least...or a limerick). Well, it could go either way and it's your choice how things work, of course. :P

So i'll just wait for the next page to find out which it is (or longer, if necessary).

It just now occurred to me to wonder what Facepalm McMumbles is pointing at in panel seven. Did he just see a demon rat, or something demony about the Russian half-elf? Cuz it doesn't look like he's agreeing. Unless he's saying "careful not to stab me when you kill him."

Hmmmmm. *ponder ponder*

I didn't notice that, you're completely right. I don't know exactly where he's pointing though, as the first panel shows them having their backs facing walls.

So either he is pointing at Russian lady or he's pointing at a rat he sees on the ground near the wall?...or he's pointing at a wall, you never know.
