Jonan also refuses to vote on a budget until the Affordable Care Act has been repealed.

Vote Incentive for This Comic.

Dang, is Xira getting video clips along with textbooks? So techy. Or are those still photographs? Maybe video will get invented in this world because creepy mindreaders saw them first in other people's heads. Photography, too, come to think of it. Are there cameras here?

A very valid point actually... _are_ there photographs in this setting? Or are those hand-drawn thumbnails?

Haha, I picture it as video clips too! And nope, photography doesn't exist (yet) in Varænske -- I figure what Xira's looking at looks like photo and video, he just doesn't have a real-world thing to compare it to.

God, Jonan, why you gotta be so MEAN?? Now that I see that memory, it's clear that he really HAS toned down since Sev and Tarri came along.

Maybe not "toned down" so much as "completely lost all his powers"........ >o>;

Looking pretty Grinch-y in the last panel there, Jonan. Or maybe that's just how Herr Hospital remembers it.

Now I only wonder if those are flash-back screens or are they the ones from the slightly bizarre photo album? Since they have the same sort of foggyness, I guess they aren't flashbacks... well, not in the usual sense anyway.

Come to think of it, this is actually a literal flashback scene, where the past is not only visible on this part of the 4th wall, but also on the other. Is this an existing trope though? Someone should make it one.

Also this page brings up many questions story-wise, but I think I'll just wait till next week to see how this goes.

Wow! I knew Jonan was infamous, but I thought that was more because of him randomly blinding people and whatnot, not because he actively storming a city with his army of zombies.

Still, not killing people... that's more than most people manage when they're wielding god tier necromancy magic. They kind of lose control of themselves in the moment and start slinging off powerful spells that wipe out thei target's extended family. Err... or so I hear. Not that I know any necromancers, m'self, obviously.

(Though this does make me wonder, not for the first time, how Loa feels about Jonan's reputation.)

Also, I felt that the whole Dr Dudeperson's mindbook being on his mental desk because it was an in-use memory was hinted at extremely well. Mostly because the book was lying open, unlike the others. I think that that specific touch was what made it so gosh darn guessable.

(Also, y'know, most runewriter magic seems to have handy UI, so it'd make sense from that perspective too.)

Fffff Jonan. JONAN. Your life choices do not bode well for you. >_>

I love Xira's expression in that fourth panel. I don't even know what to call it, but it's... that look when you do that; look up at something above your normal eye level that has you in a bit of shock/awe/fear/surprise and try to process and take it all in at once.

Loving the textures and colors and panel borders and everything in the mind panels... also, good points to the healer guy for at least stopping to explain and not slamming the door in their face. I guess he feels a little less directly threatened now?

It's awesome how you've used an in-universe way to have flash-back or expository panels. Like, really really cool. Makes me wonder, though; while organizationally there's an obvious reason for the correlation... does our healer talking about the events make Xira more likely to find them at the same time, or does Xira finding them make him more likely to talk about them?

Hmm... Rusanne is a state? City-state type thing, state named after the city, I'm really curious how this setup works now. Treaty with who? Is it a treaty between a whole bunch of city states that then make a country?

I think that Shazz mentioned that the country is made up of a bunch of city-states that randomly (or maybe not so randomly) all agreed to... you know... be a country.

As for the treaty? I THINK a treaty was mentioned with the moon wolves. But they might be talking about a different one.

Aww, thanks so much! *u*

Regarding the organisation of gov't, this'll probably be a vote incentive at some point, but the short version is pretty much what you described there at the end -- A bunch of city-states that have a treaty to ally as one country.
The muulorns are sort of involved as well but ehhhhh we'll probably get to that later. :")

I only wonder why he stormed this particular city? Or was the possible reason hinted at earlier and I forgot (like is this a capital or something?)

Kind of interested in how Jonan was doing his rampage for Rusanne's sake. Would have expected him to stay out of such things as long as it didn't directly bother him, but nope, he apparently cares quite a lot about how his home city makes out.

WAIT. That last panel is clearly from a first-person perspective. It's pretty obvious Jonan's casting on the doctor dude. No wonder he's a little leery of Jonan.

I think he's casting on the lady who just yelled at him.

I'll be keeping an eye out for people with melty-zombie faces ...

Now I need to go back and re-read Iavin's part. Hmmm.

Ordinarily I'd assume this is rhetorical, but since you asked it last week too it seems like you're looking for an answer from me? But since that's literally happening in the story right now I'm gonna say if you hold tight you'll probably be able to get a good idea of how long it takes. c:

Herr Hospital, Dr Dudeperson, Door Close-y Guy. I can't get over all the names we're coming up for this guy. XD He needs a name soon, otherwise he'll go down in history as Doctor Dudeperson.

Pffft. Shazz already knows whether his little sister liked dolls or not, when they were kids. She knows how his parents met. She knows how awkward his first date was, and about the occasional tightness in his back that he's afraid to admit to himself, yet. Never fear - he has a name. He's had a name for almost two years now.

Have faith in the Artist :D

I'm glad someone in the comments on the most recent page mentioned that that lady reminded them of someone on this page, because it wasn't until I came back to look and discovered that I somehow missed this page the first time. Seeing as it's kind of important, that is useful to know XD;

Now I'm curious about what changes in the treaty Jonan thought were "unkind" to Rusanne. I mean, I can imagine he would be very opinionated, but I wonder what would be serious enough to make him venture outside his beloved tower to force the change in person.
