this is a normal miscast, right? this just happens sometimes?

Don't forget to vote for an extra doodle! This one is about dinner conversation and some speculation.

Also, if you're a $5 patron, this month's Q&A is up!

I like that they're just casually having a midnight snack while there's some big aberrant ritual happening next to them??

Also: Tareth being able to read Sev's lips as he runs off but not noticing his arms have eyes now? :O

He is (a) running off (b) in the dark (c) while trying not face any of the party, there is NO WAY she's making out anything he's saying

but he is jumping up suddenly and dashing off with weird overdramatic urgency and capturing the attention of the entire table, rather than walking to the bathroom normally, so he could still do a better job of not embarrassing her in public

I'm sure this is fine, and that nothing will come of the facestealer that appears to be residing in Sev's tentacles. Nothing for these Agorath Order ritualists to worry about at all.

Did Sev have this aberrant all along ever since the miscast or is it because of that night's encounter? The author commentary makes me think it's the former, right? :)

don't take my author comments too seriously! xD I was going for more of a "haha im sure this is normal right haha" vibe. This is definitely not something that would normally be associated with a miscast!

that doesn't mean you're wrong, though; I'm not gonna comment on that part. :>

"An abberant set the broom on fire" sounds like the "dog ate my homework" of this world; it might actually happen, but no one will ever, EVER believe you.

now I'm wondering if anyone has ever actually tried to use "a facestealer ate my homework"

In art school:
"Where is your portrait?"
"A facestealer stole it."
"Very clever, Jim. What really happened?"
"The facestealer ate the face of my model."
"Come on Jim, petty lies will get you nowhere in life."
"Okay, actually, the facestealer stole my face."
"But wouldn't that mean that you are a facestealer?"
*dramatic piano, as it steles the teacher's face

I'm starting to think Magic in this universe is a lot more fecked up than the POV is showing us.

Okay this chapter is really a turning point in the tone of things. And not for the brighter D:
This is legit freaky.
I mean yeah, being stuck with tentacle hands is freaky, but now it looks like he is infected by an aberrant or something?

It's never a good sign when you look at your arm and it looks back.

(Has Tareth tried hitting Sev with a broom yet, out of curiosity?)

on the plus side, you'd never need a mirror again!! :D

WHY WOULD YOU HIT SEV WITH A BROOM THO

Well, a facestealer wouldn't be able to set the broom on fire, right?

... Funnily enough, it only looks like one arm.

I wonder if maybe the Facestealer is actually like... It's just riding around on Sev and making itself LOOK like it's part of his arm.

If Sev and his arms/tentacles/aberrant can be thought of as different entities, I feel a bit sorry for the aberrant (and Sev too, of course). Its expression mirrors Sev's own "NOPE... NOT READY FOR THIS!" expression in panel five.

Some seriously creepy stuff there! But I mean that in the most enjoyable way possible.

Also, I like to think of the color scheme on this page as creepy cotton candy.

The color scheme for this page would look downright delicious if it weren't for the subtle but eerie green of Sev's arm. His arms... do not look delicious.

Curious that this ritual seems to be accelerating Sev's transformation into an aberrant.

Wow now so many assumptions in one sentence! D: Who says Sev is turning into an aberrant? He... he just has some.. some skin conditions. It will probably go away in a few days, right?

Yeah, just get some skin cream or some nice hand lotion, Sev! Maybe some Neosporin. I'm sure that will clear it right up.
